Residencies
Peak hosts artist and curator research through residencies, commissions and development programmes.
We think of residencies as invitations for encounter and exchange – an opportunity to think with and within the Usk Valley, to spend time with the people and practices that make up Peak, and to explore the potential held in the radical rural imagination.
Each residency takes shape differently, responding to individual practices and the questions emerging through Peak’s programmes. We value research as a process, offering time and space for artists to follow their own lines of enquiry, deepen practice and develop new ideas. We often extend parallel invitations to work collaboratively with young people, sharing tools, practices and ideas through workshops.
Mae Peak yn cynnal ymchwil artistig a churadurol drwy gyfrwng preswyliadau, comisiynau a rhaglenni datblygu.
Mae’r preswyliadau yn gyfle i wahodd artistiaid i ddarganfod a chyfnewid – cyfle i feddwl gyda’r Dyffryn, i dreulio amser gyda’r bobl a’r arferion sy’n llunio Peak fel ag y mae heddiw, ac i archwilio’r potensial sy’n perthyn i’r dychymyg gwledig radical.
Mae pob preswyliad yn amrywio o ran ei ffurf, gan ymateb i arferion unigolion pob artist, a’r cwestiynau sy’n ymddangos trwy gyfrwng rhaglenni Peak. Rydym yn gweld gwerth ymchwil fel proses, wrth gynnig amser a gofod i artistiaid ddilyn eu ymholiadau eu hunain, gan ddyfnhau eu hymarfer a datblygu syniadau newydd. Byddwn yn aml yn estyn gwahoddiad i’r un artistiaid i gydweithio gyda phobl ifanc, drwy rannu sgiliau, arferion a syniadau drwy gyfrwng gweithdai.
